Chronic illness acting up - Go see doctor or pointless?

Question:
I have a condition known as POTS that I am seeing a specialist about. The only problem I have is when my symptoms get severe (such as today) I can't get in to see him due to a 2 month waiting list. Calling is also pretty much pointless. I haven't felt "right" for the past three days and I feel that it is getting worst. I have thought about going into the 24 hour clinic to get checked out, but in all reality there is very little they will know about POTS and therefore little they will be able to do. I'm kind of stuck at whether I should go in anyway to be safe or just try to ride out the symptoms and hope they go away. Any advice?

Answers:
Do you have a blood pressure cuff. The kind that also counts your heart rate or pulse rate.

It might be wise to invest in one and when you have a record of the fluctuations in your pulse rate you will be better able to determine when to just take it easy or when to call an ambulance to take you to the emergency room.
