Multiple sclerosis?
Question:
Answers:
The World Health Organization estimates that there are between 1.1 and 2.5 million cases of Multiple Sclerosis in the world. The exact number of cases is very difficult to pin down because not all countries keep statistics of diseases in their population. Couple that with the fact that the disease is very difficult to diagnose and you are never going to get a solid reliable statistic. The National Institute of Health in the US estimates that there are approximately 250,000 to 500,000 cases in the US where 200 new cases get diagnosed everyday.

Government estimates say around 300,000 people in the United States have it. But since technology for detecting MS is getting better and better, we're finding that people who were diagnosed with other diseases actually have MS. So the numbers that actually have it in the US are likely much higher, some say as high as 1 million.
