Why do children under the age of 10 suffer from candida (vagina itching and sore)?

Question:
My sister's daughter in Africa, has been suffering from candida for sometime now and it is very aweful when it come. it comes and go sometimes. She does not feed her with anytime that has got very high sugary content but all has proved futile. We do not know if was infected.

Her doctor has been giving her medicine when it comes but cannot cure her permanently.

Please help save the live of this little girl before the worst happens. She is the only daughter of my sister. Thanks

Answers:
In little girls get candida albican infections because they get changes in the normal vaginal environment. This is a yeast infection. If she is immunocompromised she could be dealing with a systemic disease. If this is the case, immunocompromised individuals are much more difficult to treat because most superficial or mucous membrane infections in these patients do not respond well to topical antifungal treatments. Invasive candidiasis requires treatment with aphotericin B, and often with 5-fluorocytosine; fluconzole may be substitued for either drug. Be sure to keep her dry. But if she is having that bad of a problem she needs to continue to see her doctor and get on a treatment plan to prevent anything horrible from happening. It is not normal for her to keep having yeast infections.
Does this child have a compromised immune system? Many people with inefficient immunity have more yeast infections. Also, candida albicans thrives in hot, moist, dark areas. The vagina has to have a balance of yeast and bacteria to be healthy. when the level of bacteria falls (such as after taking an antibiotic, the yeast go out of control. Having diabetes will encourage candida albicans, also. this girl should be tested for that. Her doctor is the authority though; she needs to see a doctor. As it is a YEAST infection, you CANNOT become immune to them. sorry.
well one thing you need to make sure is that she gets a healthy diet in, i'm not sure how old your sister's daughter is, but she needs food from every food group in, like fibers and wheat, meats, carbohydrates, sugars, she needs to intake all of that, and since she is still young and she will develop yeast infections from time to time, her body will be building an immune system to it, give it time, but i'm sure she's ok.
Vaginal discharge is caused by overgrowth of candida, yeast in the intestines caused by diet (high sugar-don't forget the hidden sugars in many foods and drinks, if it is similar to foods in other countries), medication (antibiotics used in past10 yrs.). What is recommended is a healthy diet and some restrictions: fruit (maybe she eats too much fruit which has lots of sugar), sugar, dark red meat, dairy products, chlorinated water. Eat more fermented products (plain yogurt, saurkraut) that are sources of good bacterias. There are natural supplements on the market to kill the yeast internally-caprylic acid. If you can, buy the probiotics supplementing good bacterias (i.e.acidophillus) that keep the yeast "In check" in the intestines. Doing it only by a diet can take couple of months. The supplements help to heal faster. Treat the root cause not the symptoms as Dr. do with vaginal tablets. And the beginning she might have lots of cravings for sugar as the yeast does not want to give up, but in 4 days, it will pass and she will start to feel more energy. The discharge will disappear.

Is she wiping properly? This can cause all kinds of infections down there.
