Is it bad to produce one stool per week?


Question:
I typically produce a bowel movement around every 5-7 days. This has been an on going dilemma for a few years now. I could drink more water than I do, I take a fiber supplement (2 grams per day) and eat normal foods. I have recently starting feeling this sensation in the middle of my back on the left side that feels like a piece of tape is stuck to my back. It doesn't hurt at all just annoying. Please shed some light on this if you have any information. Any ideas as to what will help me produce a better stool, etc. I've also recently starting taking flax seeds and it's too soon to notice a difference in that.

you most definatly need to add more water, especially if you are adding more fiber..all the fiber is doing is balling up in your system and needs basically a lube job to get it out. thats what the water does. It would also help to add a little olive oil to yout diet to help it slide out better.
You should have about 25 grams of fiber per day and about 64 oz of water...which is equal to 4 bottles of water ( or 2 big bottles)

And you should be having 1 to 2 bowel movements per day!
I learned this info from Dr. Oz that is often on Oprah.
i have no idea i have the same problen. it really sux and annoying. my daughter has the same problem and she is 2.
OK LISTEN, YOU ARE POISONING YOURSELF SLOWLY, REALLY.. i can relate i am the same way , when i was 8 months pregnant i went 2 weeks and i swear i was so sick, you need to start drinking prune juice regularely and eat cereal like ALL BRAN, SHREDDIES, FROSTED MINI WHEATS, i find things like fibre supplements really are just a waste of money. Taking laxatives is extremely hard on your system and they ultimatley make your bowel lazier, you also have to train your body to go again, you have to make a conscious effort to go sit on the toilet and try to go even if you don;t have too. and you really need to start do this first. Even if you have to drink the entire bottle of prune juice in one day./ Drink at least half the bottle of prune juice and have one big bowl of ALL BRAN ( ONLY.) AND IF YOU REALLY HAVENT GONE FOR A WEEL DRINK THE WHOLE BOTTLE, YOU DON;T WANT TO GET YOURSELF TO GO WITH LAXATIVES I COULD TELL YOU A COUPLE OF THIINGS THAT WOULD WORK INA FEW HOURS BUT REALLY YOU SHOULD GET RID OF IT NATURALLY. iS THIS A REGULAR THING FOR YOU CAUSE IF IT ISN;T YOU MIGHT HAVE A BLOCKAGE. BUT REALLY PRUNE JUICE, ALL BRAN AND THEN YOU SHOULD BE DRINKING WATER THE WHOLE DAY YOU ARE DOING THIS, THEN ONCE YOU GO AND THE PRUNE JUICE ( WHOLE BOTTLE ) WILL WORK,ONCE YOU ARE CLEANED OUT YOU SHOULD DRINK AT LEAST ONE FULL GLASS OF PRUNE JUICE A DAY, AND ALSO EAT AT LEAST ONE BOWL OF ALL BRAN A DAY AND THAT IS OF COURSE ON TOP OF ALL THE FRESH VEGGIES AND FRUITS YOU ARE GOING TO INCORPORATE INTO YOUR DIET AS YOU REALLY NEED NATURAL FIBRE NOT THESE STUPID SUPPLEMENTS, YOU MIHGHT AS WELL FLUSH YOU MONEY DOWN THE TOILET WHEN IT COMES TO THAT CRAP REALLY.- IF DRINKING THE WHOLE BOTTLE OF PRUNE JUICE AND THE ALL BRAND DOESN;T WORK, GO TOT HE PHARMACIST AND ASK HER FOR SOME MINERAL OIL. TAKE 4 BIG TABLE SPOONS AND PUT IT IN A SMALL AMOUNT OF PRUNE JUICE AND DRINKT IT ALL DO THIS THREE TIMES IN ONE DAY AND YOU WILL GO THE NEXT MORNING, BUT THIS IS A LAXATIVE TRY THE OTHER WAY FIRST, IF THE MINERAL OIL DOESN;T WORK GO TO THE PHARMACIST AND ASK THEM FOR MAGNESIUM CITRATE"THE BOMB" IT WILL TAKE ABOUT 4-6 HOURS BUT YOU WILL CLEAN OUT COMPLETELY AND IF YOU HAVEN;T GONE IN A WEEK DRINK THE WHOLE BOTTLE. tHIS IS A REALLY NASTY LAXATIVE THOUGH, AFTER YOU USE IT YOU HAVE TO DRINK EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF WATER AS THIS STUFF KING OF DEHYDRATES YOU IF ALL THE FIRST STUFF DOESN;T WORK I WOULD SAY YOU HAVE A BLOCKAGE AND I WOULD GO TO THE MAGNESIUM CITRATE, IT TASTES KIND OF LIKE SOUR SEVEN UP DRINK IT COLD, AND BELEIVE ME YOU WILL FEEL WAY WAY BETTER, as you are probably not feeling like doing anything, and you are tired and achy headaches, seriously dude you are poisoning yourself by waiting this long you should only go 2-3 days tops. it is important to keep yourself regular. This is your bodies waste, and it needs to come out, are you getting lots of pimples, sweating, heaches, sleepy, greasy hair, tired, serioius stuff dude, Do what i say and you will feel like a million bucks, you need to get into the habit of doing the cereal and prune thing everyday, as it sounds like your bowels are lazy like mine and weare the only ones who are hurting ourselfves by not drinking enough water and eating a balanced diet of fresh veggies and fruit , water and fibre.
