It is cholestrol lowering agent, it cannot be given in the acute phase; let the patient condition settle down as we have to keep the BP at a bit higher level 130/90, so that perfusion of brain is not obtunded.
With precautions the physician MIGHT advise Zocor, as he is the best aware of patient's status resulting in CVA.
