What could my daughter have?

Question:
My Daughter has had a fever everynight for 10 days now. No other symptoms besides being tired and weak sometimes. She had 1 urine test, 2 sets of bloodtests, ultrasound, and chest x-ray. The blood test revealed that her enzymes in her liver are higher than normal, she's anemic, and her Iron is low. The ultrasound revealed that her liver and spleen were a little bigger than normal. They are waiting for the viral illness tests to come back and she going to get another set of blood tests on monday. What do you think it could be? I am really worried and tired of this waiting game. I just wish they could tell me whats wrong with my daughter. My aunt's neice on her other side of the family had the same thing and come to find out she had leukemia. It's got me worried now! I thought I would ask your opionon this!

Answers:
Since you stated that both the liver and
the spleen were slightly enlarged, my
feeling (this is not a diagnoses) is that
it may be Hepatitis.
This article tell about the different types
of Hepatitis and its symptoms:
http://www.kidshealth.org/parent/infecti...

Hepatitis is the inflammation of the liver cells
and can be treated with medications to
reduce the inflammation. The liver can heal.
It is good she is being checked right away...
as if this should lead to cirrhosis, which is
the death of the liver cells...it becomes much
more serious. Some types of hepatitis can
be cured.

There are many different types of anemia. Since you said she was low in iron, this may be replaced with medication. This type of
anemia is called Iron Deficency Anemia... Young girls can have this when they start their periods because of blood loss and it is common. If the spleen is enlarged, it
can trap some of the cells inside...since the
cells are not released into the blood, it can
appear that she has low blood cell counts.

I hope this is of some help and that you do
find out what your daughter truly has. I
know how hard it is to wait on results of
tests.

mono?
You need a precise diagnosis. Wait for the blood tests. If a clear diagnosis is not arrived at, she may need a "liver biopsy"
Drink a lot of water and detox the fever is detoxing

we cant say anything right now...what u have to do is wait n watch...u can completely depend on the doctors n the reports...
it will be highly important for u to have patients...
just pray to god n be possitive.nothing will happen to ur daughter...
take care.
I am sorry. lets just wait for the results since anything else would be guessing. I mean perhaps it is a infectious process like with a parasite . Has she travelled far away?
The diagnosis depends upon the labs. It could be enteric fever, leukemia, septicemia, infectious mononucleosis, TB, malaria, Leishmaniaiais, lymphoma, hemolytic anemia, etc.
It sounds like hepatitis A. Hepatitis A gives flu-like symptoms. I would find out whats she been eating because the food was contaminated. Hepatitis A is easily treated. I am suspecting the doctors are already testing her for hepatitis due to high liver enzyzmes.
