Granny, the way you take Xanax is completely okay. You are not even taking the 0.5 dosage. Since you are cutting in half and only taking twice a week, you will have not problem being addicted. I am marveling at your ability. You must only have to take it when you feel a little nervous about something.
I have used this for panic disorder myself. It was very hard to get off. Once I quit working, things were easier for me.
Proud of you. Your doctor would have told you if there was a problem. You are taking a very small amount but if you are concerned about even that, I would try to wean down to only once a week for two weeks and then stop entirely after that. If you feel nervous or jumpy, or can't sleep, take Melatonin or Benadryl.
There is really no guarantee no matter what that you do not get addicted to Xanax. It is a wonderful drug that is terribly misused by many. You are cool with it, though. Anyway, it is a controlled substance so keep it out of site of little hands.
well since you've been taking them for so long, and havent developed a dependency yet, i think it would be safe for you to take them upto 4 times a week and it should be a .5 dosage cut in half .05 is way below the effective range. and in a day i think you could take .5-.75 if you really need it,
i took it twice i absused it one time and took 2 milligrams, it effed me beyond belief and i will never again but i have also taken 1 milligram and i was fine just a tad slow in reaction time and it was the first time i took
Per my Doctor, I can take as needed, but have never taken more then one a day during an extreamly stressful time I was having. However, that being said...the best thing to do is check with your Dr. He knows your history and any other medications you may be on and reactions. Good health to you.
I usually take about 6 mg, and drink a 12 pack of beer... No, I am playing with you sweetheart, but I have done that. It is a simple benzo (benzodiazepine), and you are not likely to get physically "hooked". Maybe psychologically hooked, but probably not physically. I have been taking Ativan (also a bennie) for about 14 years, and it just helps keep me "balanced".
It is not an opiate, like Morphine, Demerol, (Heroin), etc., where you can very well get physically hooked. And the health risks are minimal. don't fret about it.
