Well, depending on how long ago it was that they were being a complete pain in the butt, they may have left the computer and didn't close their IM or something.
If not, they're nutty and ya probably don't wanna talk to them anyway! =Þ

I have a few on yahoo who do me the same way
they will send you 50 msgs and as soon as you reply - nothing. So i stopped sending them msgs all together
A good friend of mine recently moved to England with the Air Force. He has stated many times that he wants people to stay in contact with him, call him, send him stuff, etc., and adds that he hasn't really met a lot of close friends over there as of yet.
I'm close to this guy, yet every time that I IM him, he's running out of the house or too busy to talk and I feel completely blown off. OK fine, so you're going to bed, but why are you logging back in a half hour later? Every time?
I know I'm comparing apples to oranges with your question, but the bottom line is that people just don't make any damn sense.
