Question:
Every now and again I get a boil in my thigh. My sister get them all the time. On her buttocks, thigh! Doc says it is an infection trying to get out.. I would like more of an explanation HOLLA

Answers:
Boils are just localized skin infections. They can start as an ingrown hair (probably fairly likely if they're occurring in an area you shave), foreign objects like slivers, or just plugged sweat glands. Best thing to do is warm compresses as soon as you get one, that'll help it form a head and eventually drain faster. They can be prevented by using a loofah to remove dead skin cells and using an antibacterial cleanser. If they're really bad, your doctor may give you some antibiotics.

If your sister's boils are between her buttocks, it may be a pilonidal cyst, which is a little different, and could eventually need surgery.
All I know is that hereditary causes boils and that since my mother gets them all the time, I have the burden of getting them too and it SUCKS. My mother once got a blood infection that caused her to be covered in them and she went to the hospital and had them drained. However, when I went to see my doctor about my boils, she told me that there's this new gel that you swab in your nose and it makes the boils stop. She wrote me a prescription for it but the pharmacy said it was on backorder... for a year. I never got it but you can definitely get a prescription to help them go away. :)
Some members of my family are having the same problem. one was in the hospital for 2 weeks and had infection deep in his arm that the Dr had to go in and remove the infection from his arm. the other was a small child that kelp getting them on her leg the Dr put her in a chilDren's hospital for 3 weeks finally they found the infection deep in her leg she had surgery to remove it and her leg is scared badly she will have to have surgery again to fix it.
The boils will never stop until the infection is removed.
The boils are caused by a type of staff infection. the dr that treated my family said it is a new type of staff infection. the staff lives in your nose. uses a triple antibiotic cream like neosporin in your nose 3 times a day and it will help.
your may also have a infection deep in your skin where the boils pop up at that will need to be removed.
