Here are a few simple home remedies that will help to overcome cough. Have honey in a hot drink before bed time.To relieve fits of coughing due to dryness in the throat, suck a few pepper corns. Check out http://useinfo6.blogspot.com/ for more remedies and information.
Bleach
honey and hot water! works every time!
go see a doctor
Try Aleve Cold & Sinus it worked for me.
the garlic might account for the stinking part

as with any cold, wait it out
Hot/cold/hot showers, stretch throat if there is pain there. you can warm saline rinse your nasals if you want. gargle with same. then drink lots of water and perhaps do a bunch of yoga. i like airborne tablets. keep the zinc up, in some form or another, until a week or two after the cold leaves. don't overdo zinc though.

if you mean "stinking" literally, I don't know anything about that. this other guy says that might be bad.
In future try donating money you currently waste on useless remedies to a medical charity. Colds are viral illnesses that tend to run their course with nothing that we do altering their duration. Both the 2 things you have tried are useless. But then so is everything else!
Make up a warm drink of whiskey, hot water, honey and a few cloves, and sip it slowly.
It's actually quite a pleasing drink even if you don't have a cold.
drink hot water with a little bit of salt in it..it helps ..and get well soon :)
Foul smelling nasal discharge could be due to anaerobic infections. you better see a doc.
One suggestion, save your money. For the most part your herbal remedies have be proven to be entirely ineffective in either curing colds or relieving the symptoms (see below for an example). Paracetamol will make you feel better and cost a lot less. The cold will go away in about 10 days whatever you take.
I sympathise. I am just getting over a cold which almost always turns to a chest infection and then sinus problems. Unfortunately there is no cure for a cold. It takes around two weeks to get rid of if you don't take any cold remedies and around a fortnight if you do take cold remedies. All you can do is rest, pamper yourself and relieve the symptoms. I take Sinutabs (contains paracetamol) to dry up the runny nose and the cooled water and juice from boiled onions (an oldie but a goldie) for my cough. Get well soon :)
The only thing you can do is see it through. You can relieve the symptoms of a cold but you can't get rid of it with medication. Sorry about that!
