I sympathize with you. I had headaches on an average of 5-9 days per month for two years. They would usually last 2-3 days at a time. For me, the answer was aggravated "trigger points" in the muscles of my neck (sternocleidomastoids) and the back of my head (suboccipitals) due to stress and poor body mechanics. With the help of a massage therapist the trigger points were located and eventually I was able to apply self-massage to de-activiate the trigger points before I went into a headache. Within a month or two, the headaches were gone completely.
Trigger points can be tricky and painful--do your research, enlist the help of a licensed massage therapist at least initially, and be very careful not to overwork the area(s) involved. There is a learning curve to self-massage for trigger points.
Tooth-grinding at night can also cause headaches. This is usually caused by stress or an improper alignment of your teeth. Your dentist can help you with this and may grind down some of your teeth so they go together better and/or provide mouth guard to wear at night to keep your teeth aligned and keep you from exerting too much pressure, which can actually break teeth and aggravate the masseter (jaw muscle).
There are many causes of headache. I share this as my personal experience only.
