Crohns disease will be with you for life unfortunately BUT you can keep it controlled with diet. There are many foods that will trigger a flare up and you can avoid those by avoiding the foods you shouldn't eat.corn, really spicy foods, fried foods, popcorn, nuts. There is a book called "Food and the Gut Reaction" that will help you alot.
You should eat yogurt every day, keep up your vitamins, any medication you've been prescribed, and drink lots of water. You will also find that as a teenager & you start to party more that alcohol may be a factor so watch out for that. Be aware of the triggers and stay away from them. Stress can also be a factor. I would love to tell you it will get better. It might but it can also get worse if you aren't careful.
I wish you the best & the greatest advice I can give you is when you start feeling a flare up don't let it get away from you. See the doctor right away and he/she can guide you on a course of additional medication etc. before it gets serious.
My friend has it, and no, it doesn't get better.
However, he has a much easier time dealing with it now
Do you mean Crohn's Disease? You can control it by staying on the gluten/casein free diet. I have friends who have this condition. One is on the gfcf diet and the other one eats whats she wants. My advise is to stay on the gfcf diet because the one who eats whats she wants had to deal with pancreatitis and it was not fun. She only can work per-diem now. She was out on disability for 2 months and was also coming into work late a couple times a month. My son has autism and is also on the diet and is doing so much better.
Hope you feel better

It doesnt get better you just learn ways to control outbursts and find out triggers. I've had it since I was 12 and if I'm not careful I still get as sick as I was when I was 12. But, don't worry once you learn to cope with it it will be much better!
hi spartan, I was dxed w/Crohns at age 12. I can relate to what you are dealing with.
If you check out the Crohns & Colitis Foudndation site they have information you can give to your teachers so they won't give you a hard time when you have to leave the room, information on the latest treatments, diet, surgery, etc.
You can even find a local support chapter where kids your age meet. CCFA even has a camp for teens like you.
If you or your family has questions re: this illness, they can call M-F 9 am - 5pm (EST). CCFA has a site manned by health professionals who deal w/IBD (crohns/ulcerative colitis) all the time. There is also a live chat M-F which you can participate in.
I know it's hard as a teen to deal with something so serious and you have to grow up fast in regards to taking responsibility w/your health. I had to deal w/emergency surgery at age 17 but the support group has helped me tremendously in dealing with issues such as dating, peer pressure, if I could play sports, etc.
If you work with your doctors to get this in remission, you can be fine for a long time. Crohns has a mind of its own but we've come a long way with treating it. Remicade and Humira are the newest treatments that are out.
Ask questions, seek answers, and know what it's all about by educating yourself. Best of luck to you from one crohnie to another.
