After being told a year ago of having polyps they are now gone, where did they go?

Question:
no surgery to remove them or medicine was used does the body reabsorb them

Answers:
polyps are a collection of swollen or hypertrophied (thickening) tissues. mainly found in the digestive system, reproductive system (predominantly females) and/or the nasal cavity.

as with any living tissue, polyps need adequate blood supply (4 oxygen) to promote and sustain growth.

so, the only real explanation i can think of would be that your polyps became hypoxic (decreased blood supply leading to poor tissue perfusion) and basically just shriveled up and died.

i have not seen or heard of this happen as a nurse.. but i'm sure it's not uncommon. sorry about the terminologies.. i tried to simplify them best i can.

cheers!
