I am having terrible withdrawal symptoms from Klonopin. I went from 3mg. to 1 mg. in 9 days. Now, 19?

Question:
days after I began reducing it I am still having withdrawal symptoms (anxiety, tremor, nausea, inner jitteriness). I would like to know how much longer is this torture going to last? My doctor simply told me to go back up to 3mg., but I want to get rid of this poison and not be addicted to it for life. Please, no preaching about how I should do what my doctor says-I just want to know how much longer these Hellish symptoms are going to last, I can't take it anymore.

Answers:
It is very hard to say. I have taken prescription benzos for agitation and anxiety for many years. I stop cold all the time. Sometimes I have a few withdrawal symptoms, but most of the time there is nothing. I am very sympathetic to your issue. I have a good psychiatrist who truly listens now. Most of the ones I had in the past were little more than prescription outlets. After being forced to take antipsychotics as a child, I basically take all my drugs as needed.

I would continue taking the 1 mg. I know it's disturbing but they won't last forever.

You might have to check yourself into a rehab so you do not have a seizure. Drugs of any type are very dangerous to wean off of them for some people and you could posibly be 1 of them . I wish you well !
