Knee pain, small bump forming just below knees -what could this be?

Question:
Has anyone had small bumps that look ribbed forming just below the knees? I have this happening and my knees feel like they are burning. My knees have been hurting for about a month now. I thought that I injured them doing squats but now I am not so sure. I have been icing them and the relief was only temporary. Although there is no swelling. Also I just noticed in the last few days that the lymphs on the inside of my upper legs are swollen and the pain is going away.
What could this be and is this serious? I was going to get it checked out this weekend but the pain in my knees went away now.

Answers:
Is the bump attached to bone or free floating? Swelling of the lymph system indicates something that should be checked by a Doctor... these symptoms could be related to an injury or infection. Stop doing deep knee squats as it's the quickest way to torn cartilage and permanent knee damage. See a Doctor.
cancer??

have it checked out.
it could be a tumor
oshgoodslaughter...okay thats how you say it i dont know how you spell it. but its usually in your knee or in your back. its when a bubble of liquid or sort of water is on your knee or knee cap adn you have to get it drained out!
you should go anyway, you might have bruised it..
