Can i shower with stitches?

Question:
I had this mole thing removed from my scalp two days ago and had to get 3 stitches, the doctor told me that i when i got home i could shower to get the blood that dripped on my scalp but i was to scared that the stitches would pop out.the thing is that that blood that dripped hardened on my hair and it's really gross i really want to shampoo my whole head but i'm scared that the stitches might pop open or something or that the shampoo might sting. i would really appreciate ur help.thanx

Answers:
yes you can. shampoo softly. wash your hair not the scalp around it. the sticthes are tough you will survive. Girl stay out of those Bar fights!!! LOL
Take care :)
The doctor said yes, so the answer is yes.
Don't worry about the stitches popping out because they are anchored there pretty well.
Trying to visualize myself being you, I would still shower and shampoo but I would most likely want to avoid that area. Stitches are not like they used to be, we just had our pet fixed and stitches are not supposed to get wet for a few days, but the stitches are now made of different material.
If you doctor stated that you could wash the surface I would not be afraid to get them wet, shampoo around that area, and dab dry with towel, don't rub the towel near the area when you dry your hair. You should be okay.
Follow the doctor's orders - you were told it is okay by the trained specialist that did the procedure, but you want those of us with a keyboard to give our second opinions here?
That makes no sense... now does it?
Doc said yes so its ok! Stitches are made of "cat gut" and very tough!
