Until the technology improves and implemented, why would anyone be a coal miner?

Money is not a good enough reason to do that job. It's like cleaning a pit bull pen with the pit bulls in the pen. Black lung...please. The miners should have some type of phone to communicate with the surface at all times. The oxygen packs last about an hour. What good is it when it takes a week to reach them?

Yes, the job is 'passed down' from father to child, an although letting children work in coal mines is illegal in the more advanced countries, poor countries do not take notice of this.
For them, money might be a good reason, because, with no other jobs available in the area, it is the only way they can sustain their families.
They dont really think if what they are doing is healthy or not, they just do it because they have bean thaught to do only that.
They dont really have a choice.

Usually these people work in the mines because they all they know. Their parents did it and the whole town does it. They don't get education and they don't know the opportunities available to them. Since that's the only major job in their area, their friends and family do it, they become a coal minor.

Don't be a fool, stay in school!
