If you were in a coma & doc said you were brain dead do you want your family to turn off life support?

Question:

I think I would want my family to turn it off only if there was no hope. My father had a massive stroke and was in a coma, he had a living will, my mom turned off life support. My sister was in a coma for 3 months but her husband & kids refused to turn it off and she came out of it ok and is alive and fairly well today.

Answers:
well, if I'm in a coma I'd want my husband to explore all other options first. If after, say 6 weeks of treatments and fully exploreing treatment options, the dr's told him we honestly don't expect her to pull out of this, I'd want the plug pulled.

Also, if I'm ever declared brain dead in any form or fashion, I'd want the plug pulled. If i'm not on life support, but on a feeding tube, I'd want it pulled. I don't want to live like that.

yes because if your brain is not showing any activity and is dead then your already gone.just machines forcing your blood to flow and heart to beat and machines are keeping air in your body.wouldnt want my family to keep suffering.

yes, if there is no brain function there is no reason to keep the body running
