My mother has oral thrush?

Question:
She has had drops and then lozenges from the doctor, but still has it. I suggested eating yoghurt but that has not helped either. Does anyone know of any old fashioned remedies?

Answers:
I would have 2 concerns, the first would be is the diagnosis correct. This should have been confirmed by taking a swab and confirming the presence of the fungus.

If this has been done and confirms that candida is the problem, is there some underlying cause keeping the condition from settling. This would include immune system problems, diabetes or the use of certain medications such as antibiotics, steroids or cytotoxic drugs.

The are no ' natural ' or old fashioned remedies that could in any way compete with conventional anti-fungal drugs, so I would look at the issues I have raised.
mico flora and fawna. Quest from holland and barrat.
oh i bets shes just soo glad you told the world that
Keep her pain free until it goes away.
Eat a curry. My mother has thrush problems too (though eww, it's downstairs but it's the same fungal problem). She swears by these herbal things called Dida, but I've told her over and over that she should just eat a curry because I make curries that contain almost everything in those expensive pills!
Try salt and lime
has she been on chemo?
Have diabetes, also caused by antibiotics and some other meds,
anyway you were right on the yogurt , and you could try orange juice,
Nystatin pills - they are prescription.
after finding the cause and treating it-gargling with hydrogen peroxide may help,
