Has any one else developed a rash after going on a sunbed?
Question:
it's the only 2 times i have ever been on them, once for 4mins and once for 8.
2days on and i seem to have a developed a strange pimply rash up my back, up both of my sides, and across my front.
Have never seen anything like it before, and the only thing different that i've done recently is going on a sunbed so in my mind they're too blame i think... has anyone else developed a rash using a sunbed?
by the way i have very pale skin, hence the reason i didn't stay on long! but might help shed light on why i got a rash...
Answers:
this has happened to me. i know im going to sound like a pain in the butt but here goes.if your skin is very pale it doesnt have any natural protection against the suns rays or artificial rays. those who tan easily (as oppossed to burning first and then tanning) simply have higher levels of natural protective pigments in their skin which show up when their skin is exposed to the sun. (those who originate from hot countries close to the equator). the more sun exposure, the greater the potential skin damage, therefore the harder the pigments work and the more tanned the person gets. with your pale skin you are better off using a high quality tan in a bottle rather than giving yourself skin cancer.
the spots are a bad sign and are directly linked to the sunbed. you mightnt get those spots from the natural sun rays but you would definately burn. i have learned the hard way and wish i could turn back the clock. i wasnt a huge sunworshipper or sunbed user but i have celtic pale skin. i know a real tan makes you look and feel fabulous but it really ruins your skin for life. and 8 minutes is a long time to stay in a sunbed, especially when you are pale and new to it. sorry for being a pain!
I think it was rash going on the sun bed.
It could also be from the tanning lotion you are using. Either way you should stop going until it clears up, and see a doctor if it gets worse.
Yes I did I have very fair skin ,don't have anymore it is what the doctor called radiation burns mine got so bad that I could only use cotton clothes and to stop the burning calamine cream + antihistamines, I was only having 3 minutes at a time,
Oh dear. It might be a fungal infection. It starts off with pimples, but develpops into white circles. Keep an eys on it, and if it gets worse see your doc. They prescribe an anti-fungal cream such as canesten, as its the same kind of fungal thing as thrush. Next time, make sure you clean the bed thouroughly yourself, as some dont clean it at all! or even better dont go on them at all! hope it clears up soon! x
Yes I've had the same problem when I tryed them. I don't get this in Natural sun light . Only in tanning salons when I try to speed up the arrival of summer. Maybe its the type of Light these give off? We just react to it easier. I have friends that go all the time and I've tryed the same salons and machines and don't get the same results. Natural Sun works best for me I just had to learn to go easy until I have a good base tan.

Tanning bed can breed bacteria. Be very careful about them. Stop going to any salon until you're cleared up. It could be an allergic reaction to your tanning lotion too. You should see a doctor for a diagnosis of your condition and find out which medications to use. BTW I wouldn't go back to that salon!
Don't worry you have a condition called Prickly Heat its common, Get some calamine lotion.
