What are the effects on health for children to be in a car that stinks like cigarettes. No smoking, just smell

Question:
I smoke in my car, but never when my children are in it. However there is concern that the smell alone can be bad for a child's health, specialy an asthmatic child.

Answers:
The smell shouldn't hurt them unless it makes them sick at their stomach. That said, if the car smells like smoke from a smoker, that tells me that the car is not clean. An unclean car can have dust, mold, and mildew in it. They can cause respiratory infections and asthma attacks.
Well, there is no smoke left in the car, just a smell, so I doubt it can cause any problem. People smoke out and about in public every day, and other people will be walking through places where people have smoked.
So long as they are not directly inhaling second-hand smoke, they shouldn't be at any risk.
