What the worst disease you have ever suffered from, that you felt you are about to die?

About 35 years ago, I started having weakness, high fevers and
convulsions. I was also covered in a terrible rash. At the hospital
they kept me in isolation till they could find out what was wrong with
me. The diagnosis turned out to be the first major attack of Rheumatoid
Arthritis. They kept telling me, don't try to get up because you can't walk.
I didn't want to bother the nurses so I tried to get up and fell in a heap
on the floor. Needless to say they hollered at me. I then knew why they
wanted me to stay in bed. I was told I would never walk again and would
be in a wheelchair. God had better plans. I still have problems with
RA and 3 other types of arthritis. But at least I can walk. When the
high fever and convulsions first hit, I really thought that I was dying.

A little over 10 years ago, I have had a staph infection and I literally almost died.
Ebola!! But then it bled out!

Malaria, actually my mom hid this as a secret from me within 13 years. I had this when still I am a baby. I consider this as a near death experience because I'd got only 50% to live.
