What is a delay in the heart?

Question:
My 14 year old son was in the hospital over the weekend with "seizure" type symptoms. Some of the doctors told me his heart has a "delay". One cardiology report states this and the other report says it's normal.

Answers:
There are conditions such as "ectopic beat" and "extrasystoles" that cause what appears to be one or more skipped beats.

Generally it's not dangerous unless the skipping occurs so much that the person loses consciousness or gets dizzy from the temporary lack of blood flow to the brain and falls, or has an accident while driving.

There are procedures that can be used to stop the condition if it is troublesome. A guy I know had it done recently, and also former Prime Minister Tony Blair had it done a couple of years ago. In my friend's case, he was falling down and getting hurt, and he couldn't drive a car. He's apparently fine now, hasn't fallen, and is back behind the wheel.
i think it would mean like a pause, that could of been from the seizures.I would ask them to run the test again. And i would ask them what it means,
If your son isn't doing any illegal drugs, or over the counter allergy medications ( which can cause these symptoms in some people), have him see a pediatric cardiologist.
