The reason they would like you to take out your piercings are for infection-prevention purposes. I had two surgeries and managed to keep most of my piercings in. I had my navel, toungue, septum and nape pierced. I only took out the toungue and septum.(For breathing tube purposes). Before the surgery, I asked the nurses to cover my nape and belly piercing with some surgical tape and asked if that would be okay. They said it would be fine. . Good Luck!
