Is my heart beat/rate normal?
Question:
I do have an aniexty disorder.
Oh, and i was wanting to know if it's normal for your heart beat to change when u take deep breathes, Like, i will feel my heart beat, then breathe in, and sometimes it will go faster or even slower. Am i okay? Is this normal?
Answers:
Your heart rate will always change when you breathe. Your heart is located directly between your lungs, and so the inflation of your lungs compresses your heart (entirely normal) and the intake of oxygen both cause slight fluctuations in your heart rate.
As for your rate, there can be several things that can happen with your heart rate. Palpitations usually refer to a condition known as SVT (supraventricular tachycardia) which is an abnormally high heart rate. Now, this isn't necessarily what you have, but it is one of the possible causes. And based upon your description of your symptoms, this sounds like the culprit.
I would seek medical attention sooner than later. And if it happens again, and you feel chest pain, call 9-1-1. Chest pain can mean many things, but it can be as serious as your heart muscle dying from a lack of oxygen, and you can't get that back. Never hesitate to call for help.
If you are a teen, it's normal for your heart rate to speed up when you inhale. Most people's do. I'm not so sure, however about your "heart palpitations." I think it would be best you see your doctor about that. Or at least call him to make sure it's not a sign of your anxiety disorder.
I have the same Condition as you describe!
