HPV....terrified?
Question:
In addition, my last pap test before my abnormal one in was March 2005. I've been mongamous since September 2004.
I did have a boyfriend prior to my current one in 2003 and early 2004, that I later found out cheated on me while we were together.
If I had a normal pap over two years ago, how likely is it that HPV is the cause of my abnormal pap?
And.yes, my current boyfriend has not cheated on me. That's not even a question.
Answers:
Yeast infection are not uncommon among women. Id say about 1 in 10-20 would have had a yeast infection once in their life.
You got it from your boyfriend.
Why would you ask yahoo naswers instead of seeing a doctor. I am sure there are smart people here, but if its something serious why would you even look here for help.
go see a doctor
go get the books natural cures they dont want u to know about from the website naturalcures.com the cures for herpes is in there
There's a huge chance that HPV is the cause of the abnormal pap, but you must know that sometimes HPV takes up to 10 years to show signs or symptoms. It is virtually impossible to know exactly who you got it from.
I am HPV+ yet I have NEVER had an abnormal pap-the only reason I know is because my first partner was positive & I requested a DNA Hybrid test for the virus. Don't be too freaked..about 80% of all sexually active people will contract it by age 50, but most NEVER know..this is why it is the most common viral STD!
Don't trip..do your research & stay on top of your paps! If you have any cervical changes your doc will address them promptly which will greatly reduce the risk of developing cervical cancer.
*email me if you need more info:)
Hope this helps!
I understand why you are asking YouQA.com . My doctor didn't do a good job at explaining and abnormal Pap to me either.
HPV is the most common STD there is and yet it is the least one talked about. It is possible that you could have it so don't think you are in the safe yet. Plus it is one of the few STDs that really only affects women. Men are just carriers.
I would just wait for your next appointment and see what the doctor says. I would also not tell you boyfriend just yet either. You don't want to start something if there really is nothing wrong.
If you do have HPV it will not affect your sex life. Everything is really normal with that.
If you do have HPV, make sure you do what your doctor tells you. Even though having HPV sucks and it could lead to cervical cancer it is one of the most preventable cancers there is. If you do everything your doctor tells you to do you will be ok.
It is scary but I hope everything turns out for you!
