Is there any difference between apo-atenol and ratio-atenolol?

Question:
i usually take apo-atenol but when i picked up my repeat the other day the label says ratio-atenolol. should i take them back? and ask for the apo?

Answers:
Atenolol
Brand Name: Apo-Atenol, Co Atenolol, Gen-Atenolol, Novo-Atenol, PMS- Atenolol, Ratio-Atenolol, Tenormin.
They are both of same generic origin and have same effect/s.
If you are not mentally satisfied/convinced, you better take Apo-atenolol.
Remember it is prescription written dispensing medication.
Check the generic name on your old and new bottles. They should be the same. Drugs made by different manufacturers have different trade names just to make them distinct. For example, if you are on Albuterol, it might be called Salbutamol, Ventolin, Proventil, and there are many, many more. Generic drugs are like that.

On the label, there will be a bunch of unusual words in the spirit of apo-atenol (i.e. atenolol). There should also be the generic name somewhere on the label near it. When in doubt, ask a pharmacist.
