Pneumonia is a lung disease usually caused by a bacterial infection. It is curable permanently with a wide spectrum antibiotic. But the child could become infected with a bacteria again. It's just part of life.
Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs. It can be either viral or bacterial. If it is bacterial, only an antibiotic can fight it. If it is viral, the best thing for her is rest and plenty of fluids. Please follow her doctor's orders. Pneumonia can be lethal if it is not treated properly.
She has PNEUMONIA. Basically she has junk in her lungs. The only way to clear it up is with antibiotics from a doctor. It is just an illness you get. Usually is no big deal. However, SHE NEEDS TO SEE A DOCTOR. No home remedies work. So, please do not make her suffer.
visit the pediatrician with your granddaughter and her parents to have all of your questions answered, especially if you are a caregiver for the child. does she have a pulmonologist? when it comes to breathing problems in children, stick to the medical professionals advice to avoid the guilt feelings after the child dies.
Ohh my god, your little angel has pneomonia, I really feel for her.
Its some kind of infection, and ofcourse its cureable, but one is required to take proper medication and in time.
It happens , may be when some one gets into rainy water, or if the person has had a shower with very cold water.
Or he ater some too cold stuff, basically the cold is the cause of pnemonia.
You see your grand daughter is too small to talk her pains. But if you take good care of as per doctors instructions, I think within a week she should be perfect.
i have had it twice and i used a hot water bottle. try not to lie down to much as the lungs fill up with fluid. has she antibiotics. god help her.. lots of love..?

Its v common in under 5 children in india and other developing countries most cases being of bacteriat pneumonia. Its treatable with antibiotics and good care nutrition and hygiene. India has full fledged ARI (acute respiratory infections) control programme for its control . So you should go to a doctor who ill prescribe you proper antibiotics instead of searching for alternatives in herbal and other medicines. Thougi there are certain precautions that you can take at home. Protect child from smoke and dust. Ensure proper feeding .give as much as child takes but in small servings in frequent intervals.
