Is this a mosquito or spider bite? Red, swollen, hot to touch.?
Question:
Anyways, I think it was a mosquito bite. Most of the time my mosquito bites are small, and they lump up so you can see where they bit. This happened on my right forearm, and I scratched a little, to the point where it was swelled a quarter the size of my forearm. I put some Aloe Vera on it and it subsided, and now it's just really red, nearly half the size of my forearm. The skin is tighter, the area is red, and hot to the touch.
The weirdest thing of all is that there is no bite mark anywhere. I've looked and looked. I thought I saw a red dot, smaller than the tip of a needle, but I'm not sure.
What does this sound like? My parents say it's a normal bite, but I dunno
Answers:
The fact that you say the area is red, warm and if its painful leads me to believe that you have a skin infection (cellulitis). If you develop a fever, chills and sweats or if it is not improving then get in to see a doctor right away for antibiotics.
If your in Canada and health care is free then I would go in to see your doctor so he can take a look at it. Untreated infections can lead to much worse health conditions. Good luck.
it's a spider bite, and if you look closely, you'll see one tiny hole.
