Goin blind in left eye?


Question:
I went to the doctor because I am loosing my vision in my left eye only. They took a picture of the inside of my eye and found out that i have white spots in the posterior of my eye. They did not know what that meant. I am waiting for an appointment with a retina specialist. Does anyone know what this means? Is it perminent? Am I slowly losing my vision?

There might be some kind of surgrey to get the white spots removed- but I'm not sure. I'm not an eye doctor.
