I would guess carpal tunnel syndrome. I just had surgery for it. It's fairly common among people who type, write, etc. repetitively. If that is your cause, you will have to see a doc before it becomes painful.
either youve been typing to long or... just kidding. my partner gets the same thing on a regular occurance and he got diagnosed with carpet tunnel. it could be numerous things eg. rsi in your finger so if it is an ongoing thing get it checked at your local gp.
