Drug resistancy?

Question:
I have been taking ivabradine for some time to treat inappropriate tachycardia. Recently I have experiencing palpatations and tiredness and yesterday I fainted twice. I have seen my gp who has sugested blood test. Iam worried that my meds are no longer working.

Answers:
Well, I was diagnosed with PSVT (proximal supraventricular tachycardia) 4 years ago. I began trying out different medications but none seemed to help like they should. I was still experiencing the palpatations...etc. I just didn't feel very well. I was then referred to a electrophysicologist and he suggested I have an ablation done. I had the surgery about 2 weeks later. I'm no longer having to take any meds and I feel a whole lot better. Still, however, I do experience some palpatations but not nearly as bad! Good Luck to you!
It could be that, but if that specific drug doesn't work on you anymore, your doctor would give you another drug to address the problem -- meds of different mechanism of action but with the same therapeutic effect.
But basically it still depends on the findings of your tests.
