Why is it that lung tissue does not repair itself unlike most other bodily tissues do?
Question:
Answers:
Lung tissue, so it was commonly said, will repair itself if the conditions that led to their deterioration is changed. However, according to a report I heard on the news, studies have shown that in African Americans who do quit smoking the lungs do NOT restore themselves and it is not yet known why that is so. So, depending on the genetics of a person, lung tissue can repair itself or not.
Lung tissue does repair but like all tissue repair the new tissue has scar formation. Lung tissue, because of its function in absorbing oxygen, cannot, when scared perform this primary function.
AND WHY DO U THINK THAT? THEY DO! BUT ITS ON THE INSIDE OF LUNG,WE HAVE SMALL HAIR LIKE TISSUE,CALLED CILIA,I THINK I SPELLED RIGHT,ANYWAY,THEY MOVE OXYGEN ALL THROUGH LUNGS,THEY ARE CONSTANTLY GROWING,READ A LITTLE DEEPER,ALL ORGANS DO NOT REPAIR,THE LIVER AND LUNGS ARE NO.1 IN THAT DEPARTMENT.FEEL FREE ASK MORE.
