What's going on with my ear..?

Question:
I've had this for just two week on the inner part of my ear like the part above the opening to the ear canal in the little fold your ear make I noticed some crusty stuff and thought it was just a scab from a cut...but when I woke up the next day it was back so I looked at it and it was whitish and flaky. Anyone know what it is? Is my ear infected. No recent piercings or new earrings..please help?

Answers:
This is sometimes caused from moisture, or possible shampoo/conditioner being left behind- after showering or swimming, be sure to dry your ears completely, in a few days you will notice a decrease in crustiness and eventually will go away. I used to get them where the crease of the ear would actually crack and boy did it ever sting if soap got in them. Trapped moisture is the main cause of this so don't put lotions or anything on your ear.
dry skin is my first guess... eczema is my second..
does it itch.. any green stuff growing... anything moving etc
It is not in the canal, therefore it is NOT an ear infection. My guess is to make sure you wash all the shampoo and soap residue off yourself after bathing, that may very well be the cause. Residue.Irritant.
