2 weeks ago, at first it was normal and small and then a couple days later it grew really big and a big lump and it itched non-stop. the bump went down and now it looks like bruise. its kind of splochy red/grey/pink. some days its darker and some you can almost not see it. why did it turn into this?

It's probably not a mosquito bite, but another kind of bite. Keep watching it. The mosquito might have spread an infection to you. If it doesn't disappear within the week, get it checked out by a doctor.

Also the next time that you get a bite, you can stop the itching by getting some salt and adding water until you make a paste. spread it on the bite and it will not itch and if a stinger is in it, it will bring the stinger up to skin surface. Check you bite to see if it is a spider bite though because it doesn't sound much like a mosquito.
