everyone has irregular beats or missed beats sometime or the other. if it occurs frequently as in everyday or more, then you do have a problem. better see a cardiologist.

You don't mention your age, general health, health problems, or medications, so let's look at information on palpitations. Palpitations may be described as fluttering, quivering, vibrating, skipping, and jumping. They are worrisome but usually not serious. Read about palpitations at http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/heart-p...
Now let's read about heart arrhythmias at http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/heart-a... These may be harmless, but they may also signify an underlying pathology.
Your best option may be to first see your physician, then to be evaluated by a cardiologist. If cardiac disease is ruled out, you may be less worried.
A cardiologist may perform a bloodwork to detect electrolyte imbalances, an EKG, an echocardiogram (a sort of ultrasound of the heart), and a Holter Monitor, which is a device you wear for 24 hours that records your heartbeats.
Some palpitations and arrhythmias are just idiopathic (no known cause) and are harmless. However, as we don't know much more about you, you may want to see your physician!
Your perfectly normal as long as you don't feel faital, weak, etc your fine, really. I have irregular heart beats but that went away now and in the past I actually thought my heart "stoped", and I road in a freaking ambulance. I regret all of those thoughts till this day, and I advise you to stay calm :).
