Are there mosquito's on the Wirral?I killed what looked very much like one yesterday.?

I have red lumps on my arms and ankles from sitting outside last Sunday and got more when I was outside yesterday! Very itchy too.

Answers:
Apparently this area is being plagued with mosquitos, there's been news of it on the local radio. I'm told anyone bitten by them has been advised to seek medical attention.
midges perhaps? i doubt it will be mosquitos, mind you i killed a strange flying thing last wknd .....
There are mozies everywhere! In this country they don't usualy carry any nasty diseases but the bite, like any other insect bite, can turn septic. Keep an eye on the bites, if they turn very swollen and the area around them is red and hot either go to the doctor or A & E.
yes they live here all year in soft mud and sand
