My daughter has a fever of 103, a swollen lymphnode and is starting to look very pale...?

Question:
Her doctor told me it could wait till tomorrow, it's probably strep, but this just doesn't look right...can anyone help or relate?? It's 130 central time, please respond asap!

Answers:
It's most likely strep. (I would know, I used to get it 6-8 times a year).
Make sure she drinks lots of water...but make sure she just sips it...not taking big gulps.
Have her eat light foods, and take tylenol or whatever pain relief medicine works for her. Also make sure she gets lots of rest.

It is also a possibilty it's mono (I am currently sick with it). Just make sure she sees a doctor soon.
Good luck, I hope she feels better. =)
could be mono...how old is the daughter?
If it was my daughter I would get her along to the nearest A&E ...
103.. what are you nuts you should be at the hospital. How are you taking her temp. If not by mouth you need to ad a degree.. I would go to the hospital and not listen to your doctor she is too hot and needs to be cooled down.. you could put her in cool water but she won't like it because it will be overally cold to her then what you feel. Take her to the hospital in ER
You don't say how old your daughter is but it does sound like something that can wait until tomorrow. If her fever goes up any higher though, you should take her to the ER.
Go to a different doctor, or the emergency room. If something doesn't look right, you should trust your instincts and get help.
I have been in a situation where my son came down with it in the evening and the doctor was closed. We took him to the ER because he was miserable. They gave him an antibiotic and he started to feel better right away after taking it and getting some rest. Aside from alternating Tylenol and Motrin to control the fever, I put my son in a lukewarm bath for at least 15 minutes.

Listen to your instincts! If you feel like there's something wrong, maybe you could go to the ER, a walk in clinic, or another doctor. Whatever makes you and your child feel better the quickest is the way to go!
Same thing happened to me when i was like 3. My mom finally took me in and showed the doctor my condition, the nurse that told her it was fine was fired the next day. Turns out i had scarlet fever, go to the doctor screw the phone.
U can try giving her a fever reducer if u have an d that doesnt work then take her to the er casue it could be strep and he could nt. Its always better ti know for sure than to guess. I will say a prayer for her.
Go to the ER NOW you never listen to the doctor that says something like that its wrong to let your child go with a fever to long it can cause brain damage so go to the ER. I go even if its 101 and my daughter is looking pale. Your childs health is important and you need to take care of it now so just do what you feel is right go to the ER.
dont panic, but... go to the emergency room! and get a new doctor! fever of 103 should never be ignored
Here go to this website, it has a lot of info, but first go to the bottom of the page and read when to "call the doctor". It says a child shouldn't have to see a dr if their fever is under 104 unless certain things accompany it, which are listed. http://www.kidshealth.org/parent/general...
