I'm not quite sure if that can happen with dogs, but it happened with my sister with cats. But this happened over two years without being inside a house with a cat living in it. She grew up having a cat, and then a couple years after the cat past away, we went to my aunt and uncles house who has a lot of cats, and we found out that she was allergic to them. (she is more allergic to dogs though) the doctor said it might be because she grew up being immuned to having a cat, that when she was "re" introduced to the cat, it made her have a reaction from being away from it for so long. but i'm not sure if that could happen with a dog over a short period of time like that..
yes it can happen. That actually is a reason why, over exposure to something. I wasn't allergic to latex until the age of 7.
