Does colitis cause high blood pressure?

Question:

Answers:
to go along with what Dave said, the disease in itself shouldn't cause increased Bp.Increased Bp could be secondary to the disease. In other words, certain medications taken because of the disease could lead to high Bp or the emotional trauma caused by the colitis could cause increased Bp.
another thing, high blood pressure could have already been present before the colitis was diagnosed.
I have not heard that. However, if you are taking prednisone as most people w/UC do you could see high BP.
