First sorry to hear about your fiance and it is good to hear that he is getting some of his memory loss and speech impairment back slowly. The key word is slowly. It takes time. He is probably frustrated too as I am sure any of us would be given his situation. Feelings of helplessness, frustration and depression are not uncommon.
Many people live normal active lives after a stroke. Many are able to resume everyday life and responsibilities.
The rate and amount of recovery after stroke is highly individualized (in other words, depends upon the person). Much depends on the extent of damage to the brain, and the intensity and duration of the therapy he receives. But his recovery also is likely to be influenced by his personality, life experiences and coping styles. His own motivation to recover is a key factor in obtaining an optimal level of recovery.
Keep working with him and hang in there with him. Your support will help him tremendously. I am sure it is frustrating and hard for you too. But it takes time to recover from a stroke.
Best wishes to you and your fiance.

It depends on the damage which was done and the individual person. If he is determined it will be a great asset to him.
