What are the dangers of a Cat Scan?

Question:

Answers:
The risk of having an undetected cancer outweighs the risks of the low radiation exposure level experienced from CT scans. CT scans done without an injected contrast have a lower risk factor than a CT scan done with contrast. Do not do self referred CT scans. A CT scan is a diagnostic tool to be done only when prescribed by a Dr. and when you have a suspected illness or good reason for the CT scan. The reason I say this is that where I live anyone with 325. can get a CT scan of any part of their body without a Dr's referral and it is not smart to have repeated CT scans just because you are afraid of getting cancer. This government web page details the risks of CT scans.

None really, just a slight exposure to radiation that wont harm you at all
not to much if you dont have to have them alot.they control the radiation better now i hear.ask them if your getting one done.or if you have you might call them up.
none. the radiation exposure is minimal and of short duration. you might have a problem if you're claustrophobic though. the CT machine gives that feeling in some of my patients.
absolutely none.
