Reason to go to ER?
Question:

First of all, I sympathize because I had post-partum anxiety and it's hell. It is possible your anxiety/depression is, at least, in part, due to the changes going on in your body due to pregnancy, but that is neither here nor there. Call your OB on his/her after hours number and let them know you are going to the ER. Maybe they will advise you on another course, but if they don't, at least you will be some help at the ER. You deserve to get some help and I congratulate you for reaching out to get it. Go for it! And good luck to you!
If you feel so desperate that you feel like you are going to harm yourself, then yes you need to go to the ER... Just remember, you have a beautiful baby inside of you and you owe it to him or her as well as yourself to be as healthy as possible. Good Luck!
Yes it is, mostly because if untreated (or poorly treated) it poses a risk for your unborn baby. You might have to wait a little when you get there, but please go, for both of your sake's.
when in doubt, just go. if you need to ask, then you are in doubt. its not just you to think about either. its the other life inside you that you are responsible for his/her wellbeing.
good luck... i hope things work out for you.
You don't need to go to the ER. If you are having thoughts of suicide, call 1-800-784-2433 - you will be able to talk to someone instantly rather that wait for the trip.
If you are not in crisis but feeling very low, schedule an appt. with your regular Doc and go talk to him/her about your symptoms. Pregnancy can be a very hard thing to weather for some women - hormones of all sorts are raging.
It'll be fine in the end.
Good luck
going to the ER will not help your anxiety or depression. they will not give you any medications to help those conditions because they are narcodics. i went to the ER twice with anxiety attacks and they just did a bunch of tests and sent me home saying "anxiety". big help.
call a help line (look in the phone book), local church or a friend who can help you thru this. Make an appt with your obgyn or regular doctor, maybe they can prescribe something for you. (xanax is great for anxiety, if its ok for the baby).
if you are having PHYSICAL pain, you should go, though.
Absolutely. By all means. Go and see if they can help you and your unborn. If you're pregnant and suffering from anxiety and depression it is considered an urgent matter.
