What percent of smokers live to be fifty years old?

Question:

Answers:
Smokers tend to live beyond fifty years of age. They are alive, but most likely have some degree of breathing trouble. This could range from a raspy and very attractive smoker's cough/voice (sarcasm), emphysema making their chest expand and trap air when they try to work hard, chronic bronchitis causing them to cough up to a cup of green sputum up every day for the rest of their life, asthma-like attacks, shortness of breath when walking, etc... The quality of life can be pretty poor. They may require a home oxygen system for the rest of their lives. In addition, smokers have an increased incidence of heart and blood pressure problems.

Older smokers are often on breathing medication, blood pressure medication, and have to eat special diets to keep their body functioning as well as it does. Oxygen may be needed too.

If someone were to stop smoking after many years, the lung damage they have caused themselves is irreversible. Quitting is beneficial because it slows the progression of lung and heart disease. That's the best they can hope for at that point.
I'm also a smoke free person.But for this question,it's over 70% something.
alot- but they live in pain. http://medicineworld.org/images/blogs/sm... -do you want your lungs looking like that??
Smokers usually live to be over 50 unless they die of something else.
Quite a high one, I should say. Some of those that do not live that long are probably worried to an early death by all the anti-smoking hype from the bullies, busybodies and do-gooders around.
