Question:
my son gets blood trasfussed every three weeks he is one and has alsreday five times can he catch heb c and what else can he catch wich isnt detected with tests b4 they put the blood for him

Answers:
These are disease that can be transmitted through blood transfusion : Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C , HIV , HTLV-1 , CMV ,HGV , Malaria, Babesiosis , Leishmaniasis ,Lyme Disease ,Chagas Disease - Chagas' Disease
TTV , Creutzfeldt-Jakob CJD , KS and HHV-8 , Toxoplasmosis , Cryoglobulinemia ,Bacterial Contamination of Blood Products

Blood bank / Red cross have donate blood checked only for HIV, Hepatitis B and C, CMV, Syphilis. So your son should be safe from these diseases, but not from the other.
My son has had blood transfusions for heart surgery. If he didn't have them he would be dead so really there is no alternative. Australia does do their best to protect the blood supplies but there will always be a risk. My little boy is now 2 1/2 and he will need surgery in the future. He attends the Royal Childrens Hospital in Melbourne.
