Should Marijana be legal?

One idea i saw was make weed legal just like alcahol... only ppl 21 years or older are aloud to buy it and can only have a maximum of 3 oz on them . I think its not a bad idea. It would probably generate some revenue into the economy.

Of course it should. It would be taxed, like cigarettes and alcohol, and no one would be taking the risk of getting tainted weed. The drug dealer would be out of the marijuana picture.
Marijuana helps with conditions such as anxiety, aggression, anorexia, arthritis, AIDS, cancer, chemo-therapy/nausea/vomiting, insomnia, etc. It does not damage the liver (as alcohol and most prescription meds do).
No one has EVER died of an OD of marijuana. You would need to eat more than your body weight to do so--and even then, I don't think it would happen.
Weed mellows people out--unlike coke, meth, crack, etc--which makes people aggressive.
People worried about lung cancer don't need to smoke weed, they can vaporize it.
Our government is highly unlikely to decriminalize weed, as it would ruin the alcohol, tobacco, and pharmeucital industries. Industrial hemp would ruin the forestry/paper industry, along with the textile industry, etc.

Well i believe it should be legal for many reasons here is a few
1-government could tax the hell out of it and make money for USA
2-Usa spends millions of dollars a year putting people away for the stuff when we all know thats BS
3-Marijuana has never been proved to cause death unlike alcohol
4-If it were to become legal it would make a lot of new jobs cause lets face it its getting harder and harder to find work
5-IT IS A HERB its not man made like everything else in my opinion if it grows on its own and humans did not interfere with its creation then it should be legal because god forbid you smoke a joint but why not pop every pill imaginable that some scientists created in a lab somewhere weed is a natural stress reducer/pain reliever we should be using it before chemicals but this is just my opinion
Yes it should be legal. But the same restrictions should be applied as with alcohol. No smoking and driving.blah blah blah. Weed is natural and WAY safer and healthier than alcohol.
Are you HIGH? No, it should not be legal. Marijuana is far more potent and has far more added things today than it did years ago, and even THEN it was capable of hurting people. I'm not some old-fashioned mother who doesn't know about stuff. I'm well-educated and know, from people who've used it, that the stuff is potent, is addictive, and DOES do harm. The only time it should be made legal is for medicinal purposes only, and only with a doctor's prescription. If it were legalized, like alcohol and cigarettes, we'd have a bunch of potheads all over the place, beginning with children, because it is far easier for a child to get pot than alcohol, and kids don't always exercise the best judgment.
I feel that if alcohol is legal the marijuana should be also. I feel we waste too many tax dollars fighting it and I feel the jails are too crowded and what a waste it is to lock someone up for marijuana.
I personally do not use it, but I do not have a problem with others that do. I do however feel there should be a law against driving or operating vehicles while under the influence. Laws that apply for alcohol should be the same for marijuana.
There are no studies to support that weed is physically addictive and many studies have been done. There are no additional additives. Marijuana is a plant. Alcohol on the other hand is extremely addictive both physically and mentally.
If weed is illegal, then I feel alcohol should be also.
Anyone that believes their child has never tried pot needs to wake up. Everyone is curious. That certainly does not mean they liked it or ever tried it again
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... how many freakin times do people have to say it drugs kill blah blah blah its bad for you yak yak yak i dont think it sould be used for medical reasons and i dont think it should be availabal in drug stores for crack heads and if your justifacation is that alchohol and cigerets are legal then think of it this way it should all be illigal if people get hooked and die from pain killers so easaly then it sure as hell wont be better if you use weed
I am a reformed dope smoker. The drug makes you lazy and paronoid, I am really angry that most of you think it should be legalised as I have seen first hand the effects of this drug. You lot might think the effects of smoking dope are great, but if I had my time again I would have said no.
I'm am so furious that I could write about it all day. I just hope that one day soon you will realise that drugs are not good.
Yes, it should be legalized. If people would research what weed actually is they would find out that it is a plant and as pointed out earlier there have been no studies that prove it is physically addictive. And believe me there have been many researchers that have tried. They do believe however that it could be mentally addictive.
I strongly believe there should be restrictions as there are on alcohol. Alcohol kills. Have you ever heard of anyone smoking a joint and then killing someone. I know I haven't. I would also like to know how someone can say their 18 year old has never tried drugs. I have a son, raised the best we knew how and he turned out to be a fine, law abiding adult that works and takes care of his family. He does not do drugs now, at least not that I am aware of, but he certainly tried pot because he told me he did but he did not share that with me until he was an adult.
People need to educate themselves about the plant before they say allot of things that just are not true.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but to say it is physically addictive etc just is not true. Crack heads are not stealing to buy a joint. They are addicted physically to crack. Pot has nothing to do with it. Apples and Oranges.
I feel our tax dollars and prisons would be of better use for real criminals, child molesters, murderers and real drug dealers such as crack.
Education is the key. Know what you are talking about before you make a fool of yourself.
