What causes me to stay cold all the time?
Question:
My doctor has done several blood tests, and my blood work is perfect, including thyroid. No heart trouble, no blood sugar problems, no high blood pressure, no nothing! Non-smoker, non-drinker. I'm over 50 and eat a well balanced diet. No other health problems.
The problem seems to be getting worse. All of the obvious ideas have not led to an answer. If you have had a similar problem and found an answer, or if you are a health care provider with a suggestion, I would appreciate hearing it!
Answers:
Even though your thyroid function is normal it is possible to still have underactive thyroid symptoms i.e feeling cold, gaining weight, tired, lethargic, mental dullness etc. Have a look at the hypothyroidism links and if you have the other symptoms even with normal thyroid function blood results your doctor could consider treating you for same with a small dose of thyroxine and monitor. Do your fingers/toes go white, as if the blood has drained out of them, if so it could be Raynard's disease (basically a circulatory problem).
Hope it gets sorted soon.xx
you arent exercising enough, lack of energy means lack of blood flow, which means the body is not circulating good. so you stay cold alot. take a walk everyday, lift some weights, etc.
