I am newly diagnosed with heart disease, can i fly.?
Question:
Answers:
ask your dr or cardiologist.
don`t forget to let your insurance company know as they may need a letter from your gp to say your fit to fly.
make sure you`ve got plenty of medication to take away plus photocopy your prescription in case you need to get more or see a dr while your away.
finally enjoy your trip.
Ask your Dr - every case is different.
you didnt specify which heart condition you have. go to your gp or a reputable health group for advice on the do's and don'ts of ur specific condition.
shouldnt you be asking your doctor that .
Depends on the disease.
In general, you'll be sitting in a enclosed area with an atmosphere equal to someone between 6,000 and 8,000 feet above sea level (depends on the plane and altitude its flying at). So the first part of your question since you don't want to ask your doctor, is to ask yourself how do or would you feel if you were up in the mountains would you have difficulty breathing? If so then do fly.
The second question to ask yourself is how likley are you to suffer from a heart attack. That's the real danger for someone with heart problems on an airplane. If you have a heart attack you are very likely to die. You will have two things going against you up there. 1. The lack of oxygen due to lower cabin pressure. 2. The lack of any medical treatment (it takes time for the plane to land even in an emergency situation and the early moments of a heart attack count most).
So if your dead set against asking your doctor who could give you a good answer... well now you know enough about the risks to at least make an informed decision on your own.
It depends on the diagnosis. Ask your Doctor for his advise.Hope this helps
It would be best if you asked your Doc that diagnosed this. He/she will have more information about your medical history than I.
ask your doctor. it depends on you're condition and case
