Try exercising and dieting. My brother had the same problem...he lost about 20 pounds and his wife said that his snoring has really decreased. If not, you should ask your doctor, see what he thinks. Good Luck :)
You may have more trouble than just snoring: you may have sleep apnea, in which breathing is interrupted as soft tissues in the throat collapse. Ask wife to be with you for a half hour or so while you are sleeping to see if this occurs. If so, you need to go for a sleep study, to see how serious the problem is. There are two fixes: a breathing machine called a CPAP, which forces air into your face with a mask, or a surgery called UPPP, which removes some excess tissue. Sleep apnea can precipitate a plethora of nasty health problems.
