Anyone on after effects of pleurisy?

Question:

I had pleurisy when I was about 8 on my left lung. Are there any after effects to it? Sometimes I get a slight shooting pain in that general chest area and was wondering if it had anything to do with the pleurisy or was just a muscle cramp. Thanks!

I had pleurisy 3 years ago. When I first got it I thought I had pulled a muscle. It was in the bottom of my right lung and I still sometimes feel a catch feeling in that area. Pleurisy can leave scars and that may be what you're feeling.

I have a lung disease and also have had bouts of pleurisy. When they are really bad and continuous, I get to the doctor. Otherwise, a little pain every now and then is nothing to worry about... and you're right about the muscle cramp. There are a lot of muscles in our chests. I get cramps in mine and they are very painful.
